Description
11/3/26 - Offered here is a WWII US M1 helmet, complete with its liner. The M1 was the standard US helmet of the Second World War, made as a two-piece set with a steel shell and a separate liner. This shell has a front-seam stainless steel rim, a feature of wartime production, and retains its textured olive drab paint and khaki web chinstraps. The liner has its herringbone twill suspension, leather sweatband marked "8200," and a leather liner chinstrap with an ink-stamped marking. The condition is very nice overall. The paint on the shell is mostly intact, with honest wear, scuffing and light scratches throughout, and paint loss along the rim. The interior paint is mostly intact. The web chinstraps are in good shape. The liner shows its brown finish on the inside, and the suspension webbing is intact. The leather sweatband and chinstrap show some surface cracking and wear, with no major damage. A nice, complete WWII M1 helmet with its liner.
