Description
5/2/23 - This is a later wartime production M42 German Heer Army helmet. The helmet comes with an aged tag that allegedly comes from a museum where this was once displayed. The tag indicates "Pvt. Vernon C. Walton" captured and brought this helmet back. We haven't done any research to confirm these claims, but the tag is still attached to the helmet and included in this offering. The helmet shell is in good condition with some typical surface scuffing, minor paint loss, and signs of aging throughout. No dents or major issues. The exterior decal is about 30-40% intact with a significant portion of the eagle missing. The interior shell is stamped on the back brim "ckl 64" although the "4" is extremely faint. The "ckl" maker stamp was used by Eisenh?ºttenwerk Thale after 1943, making this a later example. The metal liner band has some mild bends and surface patina but no major issues. The leather liner is in great condition. The original leather chin strap is broken but still attached as shown.Specifications
