Description
11/8/24 - This is a great example of a WW2 factory made Type 98 Katana. This particular variant is often called a "Contingency Model Type 98". These swords were made alongside the standard Type 98. This "Contingency" type was meant to be cheaper and more robust. These swords have often been called "Marine Landing Swords" which is not the case, however this type could have easily been used in marine landings. The blade on this sword is factory made and is in great condition, but does have some knicks in the blade. . The scabbard for this blade is also in excellent condition maintaining almost all of it's original paint. This blade also comes with an NCO sword tassel as well as what is either a headband or surrender documentation on a cloth strip.Specifications
