Description
11/21/24 - This is a rare Imperial Japanese Army-contract Smith & Wesson New Model No 3 Revolver from 1874, chambered in .44 Caliber. All matching with a kanji marking on the top of the barrel. There are small kanji markings on both grip panels. The right is numbered and matching. This one also comes with an original WW2 capture document, dated Dec 9, 1945. The document mentions a "44 Revolver", but does not list a serial number. The gun's original finish rates about 93-94% with general high edge wear and some thinning on the cylinder. While there isn't a ton of actual finish loss, there is spotty patina and light oxidation throughout. A series of small dings on the left grip panel where it looks like someone used it as a hammer. The bore has good rifling, but there is tiny pitting throughout. Fully functional. No FFL required.Specifications
