Description

8/3/21 - This is a dual-tone Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It gets its dual-tone appearance from a blued barrel and phosphate slide and frame. This one has a rare "AC 44" FN-made slide. It is matching and has the proper "Waffen 135" military proofs. The phosphate finishes are a little difficult to rate, but we believe it has retained about 95%. There is just minor wear on the high edges. While there is little actual finish loss, there are areas of heavy pitting throughout, most noticeable on the barrel. Spotty discoloration and oxidation throughout, most noticeable on the left side of the slide, underside of the trigger guard, and on the front strap. Comes with excellent grips and a rare "U" marked phosphate magazine. The bore would be mint except for some minor freckling here and there. De-cocker is functional.
