SOLD - Rare Colt US Army M1894 - Spanish American War

11/26/21 - This is a fairly rare US Army Model 1894, manufactured in 1896 and issued directly to the US military. This revolver is chambered in .38 caliber and works in both single and double action. This is an all original finish and unaltered example meaning that there is no lanyard loop. Typically, similar examples have been reworked and a lanyard has been added after original manufactured. This example retains about 82%-85% of its original finish. There are signs of wear around the muzzle, high edges of the frame and cylinder, as well as the trigger guard. There is a minor roll mark on the cylinder. There is light brown patina on the grip straps and the base of the frame. There is spotty/ scratchy wear throughout, most noticeably on both sides of the frame, the barrel, and the underside of the trigger guard. The original fire blue on the trigger and the screw are intact. The bore is near-mint condition. There are light "RAC" inspector proofs on the grips and frame. These were used in the Philippines, Spanish American war in 1898. The manufacture date of this revolver makes it an antique and thus no FFL is required for this item.
