Description
12/9/21 - This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1917. It comes with an official Colt factory letter, stating the gun was shipped on January 18th, 1917. The gun is all correct. It has a Colt barrel that is marked "P" under the lug and is polished around the ejection port. The gun has retained roughly 80-85% of its original Colt bluing. Most of the finish loss is on the front strap. There are areas of somewhat scratchy wear concentrated around the high edges of the slide, around the muzzle, and on the back strap. A small spot of discoloration on the underside of the slide. Light surface scratches throughout. Comes with minty wood grips and a two-tone magazine. The bore has strong rifling with very minor frosting in some of the grooves and very minor pin-pricking throughout.Specifications
