Description
10/4/24 - This is a very nice example of a Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1923. According to the included Colt factory letter, it was shipped to the George Worthington Company in Roanoke, VA on August 29, 1923. It has retained about 93% of its original high polish bluing. The majority of the wear is on the back strap, so the profile views are pretty nice. However, there are tiny surface scratches along the slide, and some small dots of oxidation here and there. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with one proper two-tone magazine. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is minor frosting throughout.Specifications
