Description
4/5/22 - This is a nice example of a Japanese Arisaka Type 38 rifle. It is almost entirely mismatched, and the Imperial mum stamp on the receiver has been completely ground. There are two zeros "00" in front of the serial number, indicating this example is a "school gun". These rifles were retired from military service and re-issued for use in training police forces, paramilitary groups, and their equivalent to high school ROTC organizations. Overall, the gun is in nice condition. There is almost no finish left on the back half of the receiver and on the floor plate - spotty oxidation in those areas as well. There is noticeable brown patina and spotty oxidation on the front half of the receiver and along the barrel. The follower still has much of its original fire-bluing. There is no major damage to the stock, but there are noticeable bruises and scratches throughout. "40" rack number on the right side of the butt stock. Comes with an original cleaning rod and leather sling. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with noticeable oxidation in the grooves.Specifications
