Description
10/20/22 - This is a nice example of a scarce Enfield No 4 Mk 1* made by Savage. These guns were manufactured in the US during WW2 to assist England as a part of the Lend-Lease Program between England and the US. These guns are "US Property" marked and have US military flaming bomb and "P" proofs. The small parts are marked with a Savage "block S". This one has no date on the receiver and has the proper markings. Import mark on the underside of the barrel. The bolt is numbered and mismatched - appears to be a British replacement. The follower also has British proofs. The gun is in nice condition overall., but there is obvious thinning in the finish throughout. Areas of spotty oxidation most noticeable near the muzzle and on the magazine. The wood stock is excellent but was likely sanded. Excellent bore with great rifling.Specifications
