Description
4/21/23 - This is a very nice example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 revolver issued to the US military during WW1. All matching, "United States Property" marked, and has the proper military inspection proof on the left side of the frame. It comes with an excellent 1917-dated holster with a leather lanyard. The gun itself has retained about 92-93% of its original high polish finish. The majority of the wear is around the muzzle and along both sides of the barrel. There is also minor wear around the high edges of the cylinder and a light roll mark. Minor dulling on the grip straps. Nice wood grips - the right panel is hand-numbered to match the gun. Some tiny dings along the bottom edge of the left grip panel. The bore has decent rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout and some tiny pits in the grooves.Specifications
