Description
6/1/23 - This is a nice example of a Mauser C96 Broomhandle issued to the Imperial German military during WW1. Chambered in 7.63mm Mauser. It is all matching, has an Imperial proof on the right side of the slide, and has a Prussian Eagle on the underside of the trigger guard. There is a "15" under the serial number on the back of the frame, which we assume to be a unit or rack number. There is also a "1920" government property marking on the left side of the slide, indicating it remained in government service following WW1, likely issued to the police. The gun comes as a complete rig with a rare leather holster, a cleaning rod, and a stripper clip with ammo. The holster has a unit marking on the back - not matching to the gun. The gun itself has retained about 96% of its bluing. The majority of the wear is on the back strap, so the rest of the gun is really nice. Just hints of wear on some of the high edges, light streaks of wear on the underside of the barrel, some tiny handling marks here and there, and some small dots of discoloration on the front strap. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered wood grips. Mint bore.Specifications
