Description
8/8/23 - This is a rare Papa Nambu made in the early 1920s. Most Papa Nambu pistols were Navy issued and marked with an anchor. This one was Army issued, as best we can tell due to the lack of anchor marking. Made in the Tokyo Arsenal. Comes with one period-correct but mismatched magazine. It also comes with an original capture document that lists this pistol by serial number. The gun has retained roughly 80% of its finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the upper portion of the gun. While there isn't a ton of actual finish loss, there is heavy brown patina, spotty oxidation, and pitting throughout. The pitting is heaviest on the grip straps. The left grip is numbered but mismatched. The right grip is un-numbered and appears to be a post-war replacement. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with minor pitting throughout.Specifications
