Description
8/18/23 - This is a rare Remington UMC 1911. Of the three manufacturers of accepted U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. This pistol has a very early serial number (one of the first 1,000 made), with proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame. Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. Below his mark is an Eagle/7 proof. The slide is marked with the 'E' above the firing pin stop. Mismatched Springfield barrel. The gun has retained roughly 65% of its finish. There is obvious thinning, discoloration, and light brown patina throughout. The majority of the actual finish loss is on the grip straps. We believe some areas have been touched-up with cold blue. Fitted with nice period-correct wood grips and comes with a proper two-tone magazine. Excellent bore with strong rifling.Specifications
