Description

6/12/18 - This is an all original Mauser OBERNDORF Type B Sporting rifle, made around 1916. It is chambered in 7.9mm Mauser (8,0 N) and appears to be a .318 bore chambering.  It is in original condition with about 90% of its beautiful pre-war Mauser bluing still remaining, with most of the wear on the high edges and on the floor plate. All the numbers match. The rifle had never been drilled for scope and remains in its original configuration. Excellent bore. Sharp Crown/U and Crown/B proofs.  The wood is original finish with no defects, and original Mauser horn butt plate.  An iconic Mauser rifle from WWI era that is considered by many to be the best rifle Mauser ever made. Note: before shooting, it is imperative for the buyer to ascertain the caliber and bore diameter. Standard 7,9mm Mauser WWII ammo should not be used with this gun.
