Description
11/3/26 - Offered here is a German short dress bayonet by Eickhorn, complete with its black scabbard and leather frog. Dress bayonets like this were privately purchased and worn with the walking-out uniform rather than carried in the field. It has a nickel-plated hilt with an upswept quillon and a release button in the pommel, and a pair of stag grips held by two rivets. The bright, fullered blade is marked on the ricasso with the Eickhorn squirrel logo and "Eickhorn Solingen." The condition is very nice overall. The blade remains bright, with just some light handling marks. The plating on the hilt is strong, with only minor wear. The stag grips are solid, with no cracks or chips. The leather washer at the guard is present. The black scabbard retains most of its paint, with some light scratches. The black leather frog is soft and intact, with good stitching and light wear on the edges. A nice, complete Eickhorn dress bayonet with its frog.
