Description
5/17/24 - This is an original WW1 German Imperial Army M1916 Stahlhelm. The helmet features an original shell, somewhat uncommon maker, and an original leather liner. The shell is in very good overall condition, retaining a decent amount of original apple / olive green army paint on the exterior. This is mixed with natural patina and dark discoloration throughout the shell, which gives an honest aged look. The top of the shell has a few minor dings and dents, which aren't too unsightly and help indicate this was battle-worn. The original rivets and liner band is still intact and unaltered, although the interior of the liner band and crown area shows surface rust throughout. The interior apron of the shell is maker stamped "Si" for Eisenhuette Silesia, who only made helmets in size 62 and 66. Luckily, this example is the larger size, 66. The leather liner consists of 3 leather pads, each with light surface wear but no major issues. Overall a nice, straightforward example.Specifications
