Description
8/12/24 - This is an original WW1 German M1916 Steel Helmet (Stahlhelm) with splotch-style camouflage painted exterior. The exterior paint is in great condition with browns, greens, and tan colors splotched throughout. There's some natural surface patina, age, and minor paint loss mixed within the camo finish. This camo paint is also found on the helmet lugs and rivets, which are original to the piece and in great condition. The interior shell shows natural surface patina and olive green factory original paint. Some natural surface wear around the liner band area and interior crown, but this is normal aging and not excessive wear. The interior shell is maker and size marked "ET 60". The interior crown is marked "E 299", though this is a faint marking, it's still visible as shown in photos. The leather liner band is original and the rivets do not show any evidence of tampering or replacement. All original leather liner pads intact, but one is separating along the seam. Still in great condition considering its age, and an overall rare camo early WW1 example.Specifications
