Description
7/17/24 - This is an excellent example of an original WW1 German M16 Helmet with a camouflage painted exterior. The hand painted paneled style camo is ~80% intact with natural surface age and patina. Black painted lines between shades of brown and green panels of different sizes. The rivets are intact throughout the shell; they're flush and retain original paint matching their respective panel. The interior shell is stamped "B.F. 64" by F.C. Bellinger. Size 64 being the largest size this company produced during the war. The interior shell has both chin strap lugs, each showing traces of original field green paint. The interior leather liner headband is well preserved, supple and clean. The liner pads each show light surface wrinkling, but the leather is completely intact and excellent given its age. Each liner pad has mild yellowing and the original wrap and string in great condition. Worth noting is the handwritten name found on the interior leather liner is matching to the name written on the shell, which helps authenticate this as the original liner.Specifications
