SOLD - DAK Tropical Overseas Side Cap (KW100924-5)

Description

10/12/24 - This is an excellent condition tropical German Army Side Cap from the Deutsches Afrikakorps. The cotton exterior is excellent and clean except for one small cigarette or cigar burn hole on the top crown as shown in photos. Each side of the cap has a zinc ventilation hole, with the right side missing the golden tan colored painted finish. The insignia is machine woven with a light blue colored eagle over a tropical tan background. Excellent stitching and clean, crisp detail on the eagle. The cockade has vibrant colors and all stitching throughout is excellent. The red interior cloth lining is near mint condition with well-struck ink stamps, including a RBNr. distribution stamp, 43 date, and size 54. An excellent example of a rare overseas / side cap.
