The blade in great condition maintaining almost all of it's original finish, with only minor loss from scabbard wear. The base of the blade is stamped with a flaming bomb and "U C" for Utica. The other side is stamped with "UFH" for Union Fork & Hoe which was a contractor for bayonets during the war. The blade has been cut down to 9-3/4 inches. The scabbards locking mechanism works well.
