M42 German Army Helmet

7/17/25 - This is a very nice example of a German M42 helmet. The helmet still has most of its original factory dark green paint, as well as the German army decal on the left side of the helmet which is clearly visible with some minor chipping throughout. There is some scratching and paint transfer and loss most notably around the front crown of the helmet and the left side above the decal. There is also freckling of rust around the dome of the helmet and on the right crown above the vent hole. All three split pins are in place. The interior of the helmet is remarkably clean with minor oxidization around the brim and the steel headband. The steel headband and leather liner are intact, and the leather is firm and brittle with signs if heavy usage, and there is significant surface cracking around the band. The chinstrap is also intact and the leather is not malleable. Made by EF- Emaillierwerke Fulda, size 64, lot #2132.
