Description
10/6/26 - This is a rare Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1940. It has the proper "CSR" inspection proof on the left side of the frame - less than 5,000 of this variation made. The slide is numbered and matching. It has a later-war Flannery barrel. The original high polish finish rates somewhere between 85-90%, with noticeable spotty wear on the front strap, general high edge and muzzle wear, a spot of discoloration on the right side of the slide, some oxidation around the muzzle, and a few surface scratches on the slide here and there. There are also a few dings on the rear sight with some minor oxidation in that area. The top of the slide has been drilled and tapped for screws, which we assume was for some sort of slide rail. Fitted with checkered wood grips - the left panel has been replaced, and the right panel shows some honest wear. Comes with an "R" marked magazine. Excellent bore with strong rifling. A desirable early CSR 1911A1 that retains much of its original high polish finish.
