Description

7/19/22 - This is a rare Colt Model 1903 that was manufactured in 1942 for the U.S. military and later presented to Brigadier General E.F. Graham. The pistol is in great condition with 96-98% of the parkerized finish remaining. This one is difficult to rate as there's very little actual wear, but some patina has set in. This pistol is then documented by serial in Brunner's Colt book as being presented to Graham in 1962. Ephraim Foster Graham Jr. commanded the 644th Tank Destroyer Battalion in training at Fort Hood, and then through five campaigns in the European theater. His unit was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and the Belgian Fourragere. Their unit spent 300 days in combat, including at the Battle of the Bulge. For his service during WW2, Graham received two silver stars and two bronze stars. In Korea, he later served as chief of staff for the 3rd Infantry Division, and in Germany he commanded the 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment. He lived to the age of 90, as he passed away in 2003. The listing includes a copy of the Colt archive letter stating the pistol shipped in 1944 to the U.S. Government, as well as the Springfield research service letter further confirming this pistol was issued to Brigadier General Graham.
