Description
5/14/26- For sale is a German WWI ersatz bayonet. Ersatz bayonets were issued to equip the rapidly growing German forces in the early months of WWI and were slowly retired once regulation equipment could be produced. The bayonet and all pieces are made from metal to simplify the manufacturing process. The blade is bright and has been buffed and sharpened. The handle is bare metal with some light patina and a unique pattern of cutouts and small rivets. The scabbard is plain metal and appears to have a previous coating of brownish paint. Overall in very good condition.
