8/13/25 - This is a minty Smith & Wesson Model 39 from about 1963. The Smith & Wesson Model 39 is a semi-automatic pistol developed for the United States Army service pistol trials of 1954. After the Army abandoned its search for a new pistol, the Model 39 went on the civilian market in 1955 and was the first of Smith & Wesson's first generation semi-automatic pistols. They came in both aluminum alloy and steel frames. This one has an all-steel construction and has retained nearly all of its finish. There is just very minor muzzle wear and a few small handling marks here and there. Fitted with excellent hand-checkered wood grips. Mint bore. It comes with its original matching-numbered box, wax paper, and one magazine.
