Description
12/4/23 - This is a clean example of a Springfield Krag-Jorgenson used by the American Forces at the turn of the century. One of the first 1000 of these ever made, as denoted by the 3 digit serial number, this rifle was originally a Model 1892 but was updated to 1896 specs. The rifle is in good shape for its age and retains a lot of its original finish. The metal has much of its original bluing and has worn spots on the receiver and magazine. The receiver is stamped "Springfield Armory 1894" and the serial number. The stock is in good condition with no blemishes of note. The top handguard is cracked so please be sure to look at photos. The bore is dark with a hint of brightness and the rifling is dull. There is no cleaning kit in the trapdoor of the stock. Antique, so no licensing required.Specifications
