Description

7/11/23 - This is a Colt New Service revolver from 1915 still chambered for the British .455 Eley cartridge. These revolvers were acquired by the British War Department during World War I, and they were popular with British officers. This one is all matching and has the proper British proofs throughout. It has lost virtually all of its finish with spotty oxidation and pin-pricking throughout. Fitted with carved wood grips. The bore is shiny with strong rifling for the most part, but there are some areas of rather heavy pitting. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth.
