SOLD - Mauser BYF 44 P.38

Description

2/16/23 - This is a late WW2 production BYF 44 P.38 pistol. The pistol is all matching and original, including late-war style lightweight black bakelite grips with no internal markings or stamps. The finish rates around 80% overall, and is difficult to grade because although there isn't very much finish loss, there is a significant amount of surface discoloration and dark patina mixed within the blued finish. Most of the wear is found on the front strap and barrel, as well as the left side of the frame above the trigger guard. There is some surface pin-pricking on the left side of the slide as well, near the P.38 designation stamp. Despite this exterior wear, the gun is mechanically sound with a functional de-cocker and smooth action. The bore is very nice with strong rifling and mild use wear and signs of aging within the grooves, 8.5/10 overall. Comes with a Mauser eagle/135 proofed magazine.
