Description

07/28/26 - This is a rare example of a Weimar-era Simson Luger, manufactured sometime in the 1920s. Correct "Eagle 6" proofs in all the right places. This example is almost entirely matching, aside from an unnumbered toggle pin and grips, though the grips are in excellent condition. Correct Simpson magazine, but mismatched to the gun. The finish is fairly worn throughout, only retaining about 30-40% of its original bluing, with both gripstraps thinned to almost a bare metal, and there are areas of finish loss, splotchy discoloration, and general dulling along the profiles. Some dots of wear from an acidic liquid on the toggle and mild surface oxidation on the top of the receiver where the barrel inserts. Replaced grip screws. Bore still has a bit of shine, and fairly strong rifling, but is pitted throughout.
